“What does the registration fee cover?”
BIO Girls is a turn-key program - everything needed to facilitate a successful season is provided to the Site Director. The registration fee includes curriculum and supplies for weekly lessons, BIO Girls shirts for participants and volunteers, training and resources for BIO Girls volunteers, insurance, technology support, and research to ensure the integrity and outcomes of the program.
“Why is the program only open to 2nd through 6th-grade girls?”
BIO Girls is a preventive mental wellness program for adolescent girls and is improving the self-esteem of adolescent girls through empowerment of self and service to others. The data shows us that girls are struggling at almost double the rate of boys with mental health issues. Research also shows that girls' self-esteem is highest in the 3rd grade and plummets to a low by the 6th grade. Working with girls in this very transformative time in their lives helps the girls learn skills that will combat low self-esteem. BIO Girls provides a space to be a part of something that is bigger than themselves in an inclusive environment, without pressures and competition, where they feel like they have a place where they can belong.
“Where can I buy BIO Girls merchandise?”
BIO Girls Merchandise is available on the ND Tough website!
